Five years ago tonight ( March 31) I welcomed the most beautiful baby girl. I knew you were a fighter the day you were born. You had a blood infection with a high count that no one had ever survived. You were in the NICU for 20 days. They were the longest 20 days ever because everyday we wanted to take you home and we had to leave you. Your blood infection count dropped day by day and soon you would be home. We knew then that you would be a fighter. These last five years you have gone to doctor after doctor and have overcome so many obstacles and surgeries. You have always fought back and have been so brave and strong.
Six weeks ago, you pulled through your biggest surgery yet. I will never forget when the surgeon came out into the waiting room and told us we had gotten your heart tumor just in time. Again, you proved yourself to be a fighter. You have been amazing through your recovery. You are meant to be here and you have a purpose.
You are a wonderful big sister! You love dance class and have met many friends this year. You will be starting Kindergarten and it doesn't see like it should be time.
I hope you always carry with you your great fighting abilities because you will go far in this world. You have taught others including myself to never give up and to be strong and brave. You truly are a miracle and I am so blessed to be your mommy!
