Vanderbilt first followups

We had a day Friday! Paislee had her first appointment at 8:00 so we woke up and left at 5:00 in the morning. I never want to do that again! That was just so tiring, but with the injections, that was the only way to go. It was approved to give her one early that morning, since we would be traveling. I was going to wait until we got to the hospital but I didn't want her to keep associating the hospital with "ouchies" every time she was there. This was her first time back at the hospital since heart surgery, so I was anxious to see how she would be.
Paislee was accepted into the CADET Clinic at Vanderbilt.  This is a clinic for children with aero digestive diseases. A ENT, gastroentologist, pulmonologist, allergist, and speech therapist work together in the clinic and you just have your day where you go around and see all the doctors. The best thing about is if your child has to be put to sleep for a procedure, they all do what they have to do so she is not put to sleep all the time. They all work together. I think this is awesome. This was our first time at the clinic. It's on the tenth floor of the doctors office tower at Vanderbilt.  For those of you who don't know the layout of Vanderbilt childrens, you must walk into the hospital to go to the elevators for the doctors office tower.  Paislee was excited at first to go because she knew her way around. Sad, isn't it? At first she was shy in the drs room, but then they told her no "ouchies" and the day went a little better, plus my niece was with us, so that was great for Paislee to have someone play with other than mommy

Paislee will have to have ANOTHER scope done and an ph probe 48 hour test for reflux. We have more appointments with the ENT and pulmonologist so we will get to wait until they are all in order to have this done so they will be in on it also. That's good news. The bad news is we still are going to be having bad reflux and waking up for another month.
On to the next doctor which is the heart surgeon, this is the way we traveled from doctor to doctor in the hospital, instead of the wagon today, she chose the car...
Paislee had to do another chest x ray first, so of course we had to visit the fish in the garden on our way to the first floor

The chest X-ray was great and her bones are healing together nicely.
Paislees incision looked great and she is healing wonderful!! She still has limitations such as no jumping, no picking up under arms, etc until the middle of April. She can go back to school in two weeks after her cardiologist appointment ( if he approves also)which is a big deal!! We found out for sure our tumor is benign. We will find out more information in another week when we have our cardiologist appointment.
The surgeon then called us later and explained to us that pieces of the tumor could have broken off and  might be in the other newly formed arteries so we will have to have scans. Also, we will have to have another dobutimine stress test and make sure this is what was causing the bad EKG. There is always a big chance that the tumor will grow back. We have a long road to recovery. So please keep praying, we have jumped a big hurdle  The most important thing is my little girl is ALIVE and I am forever grateful for that!
