As I read my daily devotional today, this was the verse:
As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening-it is painful! But afterward there will be a quiet harvest of right living for those who are trained this way -Hebrews 12:7,11
This verse was the perfect one for me today after my thirty minutes of sleep last night and my huge headache as I struggled to make it even through the morning at work today. I learned from my devotion that God takes no pleasure in discipline and he suffers when we suffer. The purpose of God's discipline is not to hurt you, the purpose is to help us grow and mature. Let me tell you, I have grown and matured a lot as a mother and as a person in the last month. Learning from God's discipline is NO fun at all, but it results in a peace knowing that everything is right between you and God. As a mom and as a Christian, I want this peace. So, like my brothers used to always tell me, "Take the pain!"
Paislee has had an "okay" week this week. She got out last night to go to open house at the local elementary school and got to see one of her friends and that made her night. Then she was a little sad because we missed seeing one of her other friends, so we were "emotional" We stayed about twenty minutes because she got a little tired. This was her first outing so it will get better with time.
She is still having problems sleeping and again we think some of this is her reflux that is waking her up. This also means no sleep for mommy and daddy. Let me rephrase that... No sleep for mommy.
We also had a problem with her port. Every time I was putting medicine in yesterday, it was bleeding. So, I had to put a new one in. This was totally off schedule because our port change is on Thursdays. Paislee saw the blood and screamed, " What is happening to me? Take me back to the hospital" WHEW! So needless to say it was a lot yesterday.
Today, Sawyer stood up by himself!! He is going to be walking very soon! I am so proud of him!
