Princess Paislee

Whew! Paislee had a day today. We are still in PCICU. We have had good and bad today. The good news is that Paislee got her drainage tube pulled out today and is off her lasix medication. This time is very critical. We have to hope and pray that fluid doesn't build up. They will do another chest x ray in the morning to see. The hospital had Ms Tennessee to come visit but we were not cleared to go down and see so we got beauty Queen dress up clothes sent up to us. So we made Paislee a princess. She got to paint her own fingernails and lipstick and wear a tutu (which she is sleeping in as of now) Tonight we also got to take Paislee to the playroom for a couple of minutes. She had trouble walking but that will take time we are told. She is very very weak Her oxygen levels dropped a little also. She is still on tons of pain meds. Some more good news is she ate a whole taco tonight!! We were so excited!!

As parents, we are exhausted! We are ready to go home and of course we miss our baby Sawyer. We are sleeping a couple of hours through the night in shifts. If you stay with your child in the PCICU unit, one parent must remain awake during the night due to hospital rules... Whew. It gets a little exhausting after four days! Rick and I had to attend a class today to get recertified in CPR and wound care. So many many things are involved in recovery.
When we are discharged, we also have to stay the next night within a certain area of hospital. We now have no clue when we will get out, but it will be soon. The main focus is not letting fluid build up and drink liquids ( which has always been hard for Paislee).
I want to thank you all for your texts, calls, prayers, and thoughts. We are blessed to have an amazing group of friends and family. We will be focusing more on Paislees recovery within the next few days so I may not get to blog as much, but I will keep you updated and let you know when we have made it home! Thanks again!!
