Day 2

We are still in the pediatric cardiology intensive care unit. Paislee has had a busy day of ups and downs. She has a little swelling which we are trying to get down. She got to blow bubbles to help her lungs.  She also played with a child life specialist who helped her with other breathing exercises. We had family come visit us and also got to play a little tea party. Paislee still has not had much to eat. She ate about five bites of applesauce and did drink some sprite. Tonight she took a few licks of a Popsicle. She still has the drainage tube in and will at least have it in until Thursday. We got a new medicine today that is in shots which we are not too happy about. It's a blood thinner that Paislee will have to have injected twice a day for six weeks and she started that this morning..... Oh my!! She is so tired of being poked and "ouchies"
The good news is that Paislee did get out her neck iV today which makes her a little more comfortable. She also sat up in my lap for thirty minutes which was great. She has been on oxygen on and off throughout the day. We have more tests in the morning. We are hoping for good results! Thanks for your prayers!!
