A dose of sunshine

" You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away."
Whew! We are at home. How's it going, you ask? Exhausting...
First, I went back to work on Monday and Rick stayed at home... Big mistake. Not a mistake that Rick stayed home, but I went to work. I was so so tired and I worried about Paislee all day long. I have been out of sick days for a while since Sawyer and Paislee both had previous surgeries at the beginning of the school year, and with more and more medical bills piling up, we are trying our best.
So my mom came Monday night to care for Paislee during the rest of the week
Paislee is doing well. She is slowly being weaned off her medicine to just Tylenol. The worst part of the day is at 7:30 am and 7:30 pm. This is the time of the dreaded injections. We hear a death scream for fifteen minutes at every time. Paislee has so much anxiety right before and that's even worse. The medicine burns as it goes in every single time. There is nothing we can do about the burning, that's just the medicine.
Today, we went for our first followup. She got to go outside, even though it was windy, she still got to see the SUNSHINE, which she hasn't seen in a while. Her chest wall is still swollen. She still has tons of bruising. She was a little down today, but she had a day going to the doctor. It was also very stressful for her. We had to explain to her over and over no pokes. Our doctor did give us some numbing cream to use when we change out her port. That is tommorrow night and pray pray pray that cream works or you will hear Paislee scream across town!  Also pray for us as this is our first time changing it out. I am a nervous wreck.
Paislee is still having problems sleeping, I guess she's on that hospital schedule still. She still has trouble getting comfortable also. I am sure as the days go on, things will get better and brighter!!
