The Easter Story

For our Easter holiday we went to my mom's house, had great food, and of course had an Easter egg hunt. This Easter I think that Paislee finally understood part of the Holiday. On a fun perspective, she had a great time dying eggs, crafts, and the egg hunts. On a religious perspective, she understood some, but has a little trouble getting her story straight. Every year I read Paislee the book, "An Easter Gift For Me." My brother and his family gave it to Paislee on her first Easter when she was in the NICU It is a children's book that tells the story of Easter on their level. Paislee had problems at first understanding that Jesus wasn't a baby like she had learned at Christmas at her DeDe's church. I explained to her the story and Jesus died on the cross for us She then wanted to "fly" like Jesus and wanted to go to heaven. When I asked how she would get to heaven , with no hesitation, her reply was, " climb the beanstalk." She also things Jesus has to have a headpiece on at all times. She may not understand it all right now, but she has been exposed and is trying very hard. I have learned to nod and go on and see where her imagination takes her. With that being said, we had a great holiday and to top it off, it was Paislee's fourth birthday and Sawyer's first Easter.
