Six weeks is over
Today is the day. My six week maternity leave is over. This will probably be my last one ever (98% sure). We go back to routines and schedules or in our case we are going to try to make them. I had the opportunity to be with Sawyer from day one and have him home. This was my first experience having a child home right after being born ( no NICU) and I did not realize all the things I missed with Paislee. You think that he/she is just a newborn. It couldn't be much. It is. When Paislee came home she had a feeding schedule, she could take a regular bath, no sponge bath, almost hold her head up along with other things. With Sawyer we had to change bottles, try formulas, experiment with ounces, not get the belly button wet, etc. The most important was bonding I hate that I missed all that with Paislee. So as a mom who has had experience with both, count your blessings on those sleepless nights. I keep telling that to myself ummm... about every three hours when I arm myself with a bottle. So today, I walk out to the car with two kids to take to school and the babysitter and have awaken an hour earlier than I used to.. So here begins a new chapter in our story and for me it's back to reality..
