The battery...

When it rains, it seems to pour around the Stanley household. Let's see on Friday, Rick went to go to work in the morning and ran in and said "my car will not start". Oh great I thought. We just had work done on it not too long ago. I mean what else can happen? We determined it was the battery when we looked at it Friday afternoon. Okay so thats not bad, Wrong..... I will get to that in a second. Also, we had marinated porkchops all day to grill for Friday night. We fire up the grill and then it went out minutes later. We ran out of propane, so then we move along to the charcoal grill. The charcoal was not lighting right, so after about 2 hours....my determined husband finally had the porkchops cooked.
Saturday rolls around, I tell Rick we need to jump off the car and take it to AutoZone and they can put the battery on. But Rick decides to be manly and take the battery off himself. Okay fine, whatever, we go to Auto Zone turn the old one in and get the new battery. Okay, we clean our house mainly on Saturday night, yeah that was our romantic date. We had bleach and sponges as our company. Sunday comes and Rick cooks for Mom and Don for lunch. The meal was wonderful.
Back to the battery for the car, it is now Sunday night at 8:30 pm and Rick decides to put the battery in his car. Okay for one thing, its dark...but we are out there with driveway lights on and flashlights. He puts the battery in, we see sparks, and he starts the car....NOTHING... He then plays with it determined to get it working and at 10:00pm, does the car start.....NO. Would this have happened if he would have taken it to AutoZone like I said. Odds are NO.
Needless to say with all this car trouble going on, we leave Tuesday afternoon to take Paislee to Vanderbilt Hospital for the week for stomach tests, surgery, and reflux test. Therefore, we need to save all the money we can.
So its now Monday morning, does his battery work, NO. What to do now? Who knows? What was just a simple thing like a battery that costs $90.00 will probably cause us to get our car towed in and cost no telling how much. So the lesson today is........Listen to your wife, when you need a new car battery its okay to get Autozone to put it in. I will keep you updated on the situation.
