Toward the end of the week, Sawyer had a speech evaluation. His hearing loss he experienced before surgery has had an impact on his speech so we just needed to see how much and then we are going to intervene with speech therapy. We had to be at Vanderbilt at 8:00 in the morning and the evaluation was three hours long. I have to give it to my Sawyer, he kept the doctor on her feet. He had a sense of humor and his vocabulary kept her on her toes. He knew names of objects that she didn't think he would. He passed the language part but has a delay in articulation in the speech which we knew that would be the case. Speech here we come! Hopefully, this will correct our problem along with the tubes in the ears! If we leave Vanderbilt and no surgeries are scheduled, that means we had wonderful visits!!!

Vanderbilt Week Updates
This week we visited Vanderbilt two times. The first time both children had hearing tests. Paislee's hearing is back to normal in her right ear, left ear not so much. Different options were thrown out to us including FM transmitters and different hearing devices for her to use for her left ear. We have an information appointment coming up soon with all of our audiologists and doctors to discuss what options are best for her. We have done all we can do and had all the surgeries we can have right now so this is our plan. Sawyer did well on his first hearing test after surgery, except at some high frequencies he had some nerve impulses which we are going to watch. This was his first hearing test after his surgery so this was an improvement.
