Sawyers surgery
So I haven't written in about two months and you might have guessed that we had another surgery in this family. Guess what? It was Sawyer this time. I guess he felt he was being left out. All kidding aside... Sawyer has had numerous ear infections over the last year and I have noticed his speech has not been that great compared to others his age. I decided to take him to Paislee's ENT at Vanderbilt and am so glad I did. Sawyer had amber fluid around his eardrum which is thickened fluid and has to be drained and also he failed his hearing test. He also got a sleep study test and had moderate to severe sleep apnea. Therefore, surgery was scheduled to drain the fluid, place tubes in his ears, remove adenoids and his tonsils. We spent the night at Vanderbilt and were released the next day. It was a rough recovery but he is now back up and I can already see improvement. We still have two weeks before we go back to Vanderbilt to see the results of a hearing tests and also a speech evaluation is scheduled.
