We get our lovely Vanderbilt pjs on and then we freak out because we have to take our earrings out... Ears are a sensitive subject with Paislee so after a promise to buy new pink ones, we finally calmed down. Surgery hasn't begun and we are already going to have high blood pressure from taking our precious jewels out.
So we wait for the preop instructions and they explain the steps of the surgery and Paislee and Rick do their ritual of coloring a picture. As I go back and look at my pictures, I always have one of them coloring.. Odd huh
So we are off, the surgery is only supposed to last two to three hours... As four hours approach we start freaking. But we are then reassured its over.. Then the results. Tonsils and Adenoids surgery went well, but then when they do the ear surgery they discover Paislee's two ear bones are not connected which is very rare, so they have to " concrete" them together. Really, I mean oh my what else? This is total unexpected so this was also affecting our hearing. I felt guilty, but then anger. I had taken Paislee since she was eight months old to the ENT at Lebohneur and took her every four months for checkups and you mean to tell me they never noticed this along with the holes in her ears, needless to say we will not be going back there for this problem. Okay so new plan a little but more recovery time, but hey we should be pros by now....
We had a slumber party in the hospital for just girls and Paislee got these cool princess balloons and toys from "DA"
